James McKiernan Lawyers, a leading personal injury law firm based in San Luis Obispo, is seeking an experienced, motivated personal injury attorney to join our team.
The personal injury attorneys at James McKiernan Lawyers have been representing injured people throughout California’s Central Coast for more than 40 years. In this role, strong experience in preparing for and conducting mediations would be a primary job duty, since the Central Coast courts favor mediation. Our attorneys focus exclusively on accident cases, so all applicants must be experienced in personal injury law to complement our personal injury lawyers. In this role, your focus will be to provide aggressive, effective, and ethical representation for each client.

Attorney Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and guidance to clients
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies
- Resolve legal matters ethically
- Strong experience in conducting mediations
- Argue motions and cover depositions
- Draft written discovery, motions, and pleadings
- Build and maintain relationships with clients
Requirements
Personal Injury Attorney Qualifications
- California licensed attorney in good standing with California Bar
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Exceptional up-to-date knowledge of federal and state statutes, forms, court rules, and procedures in regard to personal injury practice in the state of California
- Motivated individual with ambitious career goals
- Detail-oriented and outstanding interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
