FERNANDO

 

BAUTISTA JAVIER

Fernando Bautista Javier of Guadalupe passed away on Feb 14, 2005 at the age of 92. Born on May 30, 1912 in Calero Morong, Rizal, Philippine Islands. He arrived in the US at the age of 16, where he worked for local farms and traveled up to Alaska seeking employment. In 1942 he joined the US Navy and served our country during World War II from 1942-1945. He later worked at Vandenberg Air Force Base until his retirement in 1978.

He is survived by his children: Louie Javier and wife Yolanda, Audrey Javier, Vickie Javier-Catalan and husband Norm, and Connie Ferreira and husband Alfonso. He also leaves grandchildren Connie Renee Gomez, Louie Lee Javier, Andrea and Carlos Avery, Jonathan, Christopher, and Mathew Catalan, and Yvette Ferreira. Great grandchildren are Tristen, Alyssa, and Lauren Gomez. Fernando is also survived by his niece Teresita Nalividad and her children, local relatives and friends, Lena Tolentino, Tony Javier Mary and Jose Estrada and children, the Ernie Gutierrez family, the Masatani family, and many local acquantances who have blessed him throughout his life. A rosary and viewing will be held on Friday at 7pm. at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary on 1003 E. Stowell. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Sat. at 10am at Guadalupe’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment in Guadalupe Cemetery and reception to follow. Friends are invited to attend. Dudley Hoffman Mortuary & Crematory in charge of Funeral Arrangements.

MARY ANN C. MENTINK 1933-2005

MARY ANNE C. MENTINK, Born in Linwood, MI December 29, 1933, passed away February 16, 2005 in Poway CA.

Mrs. Mentink passed away on February 16, 2005 after a long illness. She was attended by her husband and her daughter at the time of her death. She moved to Santa Maria in 1960 with her husband Donald who was then int he US Air Force. She retired from St. Joseph High School after 25 years of service and re-located to Poway, CA (San Diego County) in 1994. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her husband and attending her grandsons’ sports events.

Mrs. Mentink is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Donald of Poway, CA her daughter, Eve, Son-in-law Roger and grandsons Donald and Billy, all of Poway, CA. A private prayer service was held. The family request that any donations be made in her name to either The Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St, Escondido, CA, St. Louise de Monfort Church, Santa Maria, CA or to the charity of your choice.



OLIVER, BEVERLY JEANNE

OLIVER, BEVERLY JEANNE, 74, of Costa Mesa, CA (formerly of Pismo Beach), a retired secretary passed away February 17, 2005 of heart disease. she is survived by her daughters; Marilyn Oliver-Guins, Cindy Eschardies, Michelle Rogan, and Jeanne Hall. Stepbrother; Stanley Maffey. Sister: Doreen Stout and 7 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 21, 2005 from 3-8pm with a vigil service at 7pm at Shannon-Bryan Mortuary in Orange, CA

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 12:10pm at Holy Family Cathedral in orange, CA, with internment to follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, CA. Shannon- Bryan Mortuary assisting the family.

MANUELA GOMEZ RUIZ 1931-2005

Manuela Gomez Ruiz 73, of Santa Maria Passed away February 15, 2005 at Marian Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born March 26, 1931 in Ashton, Texas to Jose and Gonzaga Gomez. she later met and married Eusebio Ruiz in 1946 and then moved to California in 1962. She worked as a housekeeper for many years in Santa Ynez area. She is survived by her three Son's Francisco Ruiz (Alicia) of Oxnard, CA, Jose Ruiz (Anna) of Lompoc, CA, Eusebio Ruiz Jr. of Lompoc, CA. Along with four Daughter’s Maria Luisa Meraz (Alberto) of Santa Maria, Rosa Meraz (Ignacio) of Santa Maria. Armandina Ruiz of Santa Maria and Maria Elena Ortiz (Carlos) of Santa Maria. She also leaves behind 23 Grandchildren, 26 Great grandchildren and 2 Sister’s Armandina Villarreal of Mexico and Felipa Gonzalez of Santa Maria .

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Eusebio Ruiz in 2003, Daughter Delia Albritin in 1995 and Grandson Carlos Ortiz Jr. in 2000.

The Holy rosary for Mrs. Ruiz will be Sunday evening February 20, 2005 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be Monday February 21, 2005 at 9:00 A.M. also at the church
