Safe Ride Does Mardi Gras!

 

Safe Ride Home will be out in full force Mardi Gras night, Feb. 21, 1998. Safe Ride will have five vans in service from 4 p.m. until 3 a.m. A sponsorship from SLO Regional Ridesharing will allow The Safe Ride fare to be discounted from its regular $4 fare down to an incredible $1 fare.

For a ride that festive day, just call 459-3616 and a van will be dispatched to you. Or, if you are downtown, just head on down to one of the two Safe Ride pick-up points; one located at the Wells Fargo parking lot on the corner of Marsh and Broad St. and one at the Bank of America parking lot on the corner of Higuera and Santa Rosa St.

Other big news for Safe Ride is the addition of a brand new sponsor. Budweiser is now an official sponsor of Safe Ride. Budweiser is donating $5,000 to the program, giving it the honor of having the program named Budweiser Safe Ride Home.

Budweiser joins other local sponsors who have donated an awesome $1,000 each, Unocal and James McKiernan Law Offices.

The Safe Ride Home program costs $18,000 a year to operate. Any parties interested in sponsoring this community service, please call Mark at 541-8751.
